Goodbye

If one is thinking from a human perspective alone, this would be considered a sad/bad development but I know the LORD is in control so it is with joy that I write to say that we are no longer meeting as a church.

With all the recent changes in our lives, my wife and I were praying for the LORD to help us slow down and I believe He answered that prayer in a way that only He alone could have orchestrated.

For Amanda and I, it has been an incredible journey of obedience to open up our home for God’s purpose and while it has not been without its dramas, I know that the LORD has not only blessed us during this time, He has also strengthened us in numerous ways.

While it is goodbye for now, I know in my heart that it isn’t goodbye forever because I know that in His time, the LORD will call us into ministry again.

Blessings to you all,

Sundays at Arcare Springwood

I am delighted to announce that starting Sunday, April 14 (14/4/2019), we will be meeting at the newly opened Arcare in Springwood, in their coffee shop area.

I am very grateful to the Arcare management for making this possible and look forward to sharing the Word of God and practicing Christ’s love by serving the residents, as well as the Springwood community at large.

It is amazing how God works everything out. Amanda and I recently welcomed our third child into our family and this immediately affected our Sunday fellowship at home. Certain that the LORD wanted is to continue this ministry, we were trying to figure out where we could meet. A few Sundays ago, we decided to meet at Springwood Park and afterwards, walked over to Arcare to try out their coffee shop. We had a lovely chat with Sheryl (who was managing the coffee shop that Sunday) and shared the idea of perhaps using the space for our Sunday fellowship. Sheryl gave us contact details for who to get connected with and next thing I know, I met with Amie (General Services Manager) and other staff and ended up being given a tour of the facility by Susan (Lifestyle Manager) who was so excited that she wanted us to start immediately!

I don’t know what the LORD has planned for us but He knew this was going to happen long before I did and I have faith that as long as trust in Him, rely on Him and are led by the Holy Spirit, everything will work out.

I hope to see you at Arcare Springwood one of these Sundays.

God bless you!

Former Calvary Chapel Brisbane Church Plant

If you see or hear references to Calvary Chapel (Brisbane) as you browse through this site, it is because for nearly a year, we were operating as a Calvary Chapel church plant, yes, the same Calvary Chapel movement that Pastor Chuck Smith started.

When my wife and I opened up our home sometime in 2016, we didn’t start out as a Calvary Chapel church plant. Our desire was for our home to be a place where believers would study the Word of God, build Christ centered relationships through Christian fellowship, as well as challenge and encourage each other to take the Gospel of Jesus into our local community.

Without going into a lot of details, in August of 2017, by faith, we decided to move forward as a Calvary Chapel church plant and did so for nearly a year.

So, why are we no longer a Calvary Chapel church plant?

To put it simply, after much reflection and prayer, I realised that God’s calling on my life and what He had laid on our hearts (my wife and I), what He wanted to do in and through us for His Kingdom sake, wasn’t to focus on a Calvary Chapel church plant. We have gone back to the basics of where we started nearly two years ago and look forward to what the good LORD has in store for not only us, but for whoever decides to join us in the time to come.

God bless you.
